Track Of The Day :: Pin Tweaks - Girl On The Wire

New unsigned duo Pin Tweaks may be keeping some things about themselves suitably vague for the time being, but one thing that is crystal clear is that the London-based pair have a way with chilled electro vibes and an ear-catching vocal.

With influences like David Lynch and sounding like a near relation of Twin Shadow or Ben Khan, they announced themselves just a few days ago with their first track uploaded online, 'Girl On The Wire' - which they describe as: "A song for very late at night or very early in the morning, when you're boozy and jealous and confused. And your head and heart thump."

This would appear to the the first offering from them, yet surprisingly perhaps, they have already been jumped on by the blogosphere. So have they been previously known in other guises? As they state only their names as Aman (programming) and Johnny (vocalist)  - and that they are both twins, but not as been erroneously assumed, of or to each other - we don't so far have a lot to go on.

"Yeah, this is the first track as Pin Tweaks," inform the mysterious pair. "We've got more lined up and more or less ready to go. We can't divulge ALL of our secrets at once though, hehe!!"

As fans of David Lynch, the name is perhaps understandable. "Some of our sounds try to evoke the dark, claustrophobic, twisted sides of the urban and suburban which often feature in his work. Sometimes we think the name is shit, but other times it just seems to make sense. We tend to just throw tracks back and forth to each other, changing and tweaking them until we're happy - another reason for the 'Pin Tweaks' name!"

Pin their name on your radar as it looks like - and judging by a sneak listen to a second track they have under their belts - they will be a name we will be hearing more of.
