Track Of The Day :: Corbu - Neon Hallway

'Neon Hallway', the new track from Brooklyn's Corbu, is the first from their new EP, 'Everything You Imagine Is Real', which is out next month.

We first featured the band - named after the famed Swiss architect Le Corbusier - here in January with 'We Are Sound', commenting then on the 'interesting' vocals of frontman and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Graves. On 'Neon Hallway' they are much in place again, and whether or not Corbu purposely chose to name themselves after someone who wrote in a rather distant, detached way to reflect their own sound, it would certainly be apt here.

A structure of synths it launches itself over the next three-and-a-half minutes into something that is electronically futuristic, with Graves' vocal overlapping a soundscape that is both dreamy and removed in a floating kind of netherworld; which given that Graves is inspired by an interest in space and lucid sleep patterns, you could say he has captured that essence in musical form.

'Everything You Imagine Is Real' is released on October 6 thru 3Beat.
