Track Of The Day :: Porches - Prism

New Yorker Aaron Maine, sometimes trading as Ronald Paris (under this alias he put out an EP in May) and sometimes Porches, makes music under both that can stop you in your tracks; the kind of understated DIY that spins the edges just a little differently.

Maine has released eight records so far over the last years, with Porches bringing out a debut full-length 'Slow Dance In The Cosmos' last year. Downbeat, yet captivating, it's no surprise that fans Sylvan Esso elected to cover Porches' 'The Cosmos' on Sirius Radio’s XMU Sessions.

Having now partnered up with Terrible Records, Porches release a new single, 'Prism' - as well as just having embarked on a coast-to-coast US tour.

Seductively low-key, with just the right level of poetic melancholy, alongside some dreamy chord structures and a Stephen Malkmus feel to it, 'Prism' is delectable listening fare.

'Prism' b/w 'Forgive' is digitally released on October 14 via Terrible Records, with a physical release to follow.
